Fighting for My Dream, Bringing The Work to Georgia✨ Story behind…
May 7, 2018
The very first time I experienced The Work for myself was in August 2015, during a training in the Carpathian Mountains in Ukraine. Something powerful shifted inside me. I felt as if I had been searching for this my whole life… It was a breathtaking sense of closeness to myself. And I knew I wanted people in my own country to have access to this wisdom too.
Everything began with this deep desire and dream: to meet Byron Katie, to study with her, to receive this incredible knowledge and depth directly from her—and then to bring it back to Georgia and share it in my language, with my people.
It wasn’t easy…
June 2016. My dream comes true: Byron Katie gives me permission to study The Work in depth at her School, to bring it to Georgia, translate it into Georgian, and become her representative there.
I plan to attend two trainings with her—first, a 4-day Silent Retreat on July 7th in Switzerland, and then, on July 22nd in Germany, the 9-day School for The Work.
But then… pain and disappointment. The Swiss consulate denies my visa. I feel like my dream is breaking apart. Yet deep inside, something stronger than me keeps whispering: You cannot give up. You must learn this work. Georgia needs this work. You will be with Byron Katie.
I try again at the French consulate. Another rejection. Another wave of heartbreak.
I attend the 4-day Silent Retreat online.
By July 15th, just one week before the School begins in Germany, I realize this training cannot be attended online—it must be in person. And this is the most important, foundational training of all. Yet the German consulate has no available appointments until September 8th. The School begins on July 22nd.
I remember it clearly—it was a Saturday. I found out it was physically impossible to get into the German consulate before the start of the training. In that moment, I faced a choice: either give up on my dream or gather every ounce of strength, fight until the very end, and believe with all my being that my dream had to come true, that it had no right not to come true.
The awareness of what this School would mean—for my life, my thinking, my relationship with myself, and for countless Georgians whose lives could be transformed—gave me immense power. I felt I had no right to give up.
I moved the whole universe. I reached out everywhere, even directly to Byron Katie and her husband.
Tuesday: I receive a call—bring your documents to the consulate.
Wednesday: I submit them.
Thursday: My visa is approved.
Friday: I fly.
Saturday: The School begins.
I still don’t have the words to describe what those 9 days gave me. Nearly two years later, I can only say this: after diving into The Work at that depth, my life has never been the same, and I could never go back to who I was before.
In 2017, I attended the School a second time. Another profound transformation, another rebirth.
Since then, Georgians have come to know The Work. It has changed many lives in Georgia, and my heart overflows with joy that my dream not only came true—but is continuing to grow, to spread, to reach more and more people.
This is the story behind the creation of this program. I wanted you to know it too.
And if you feel this resonates with you, if you feel the call to help yourself first, and then help many others, join me. I will gladly and joyfully share with you the knowledge and experience I received directly from Byron Katie—knowledge I fought for and worked so hard to bring back home.
We begin May 21st.
Your life will no longer be the same.
And neither will you.
With deep love,
Tina 💛☀️✨
