It’s Never Too Late to Return to Your True Self 💛

April 22, 2017

Do you ever find yourself putting others before yourself—valuing their opinions, expectations, and judgments more than your own, trying to fit into their ideas of who you should be?

And how do we treat ourselves in those moments?
We lose ourselves. We hurt ourselves.
We become secondary characters in our own lives.

When we do this, we’re not being honest—with ourselves or with others—because deep down, we want something in return.

And what do we want?
Agreement. Approval. Recognition. Comfort. Peace. A good impression. Acceptance. The feeling that we are important, that we are needed.

But when we keep searching for these things outside of ourselves, we waste enormous amounts of time, energy, and effort. And we miss the most important truth—that the very source of what we are looking for is already within us. The moment we stop searching outward, we can notice: we are already whole, we are already everything we’ve been seeking.

There is immense inner power within us to give ourselves what we’ve been asking from others. From this, honesty with ourselves and with others begins. From this, true freedom begins.
