The Key to Change: Become the Person Who Can Create the Life You Want

August 27, 2019

Have you ever had a thought like this?

“Once I achieve that goal, then I’ll be happy. Once I get that new job, then I’ll start working out. Once I’m in a relationship, then I’ll finally be content with life. Once I get a raise, then I’ll feel motivated,” — and so on?

I’ve noticed that we, as humans, often wait for something to happen before we start living the life we actually want.

I used to think the same way — especially about fitness.
When I imagined my dreams coming true, I always pictured myself being fit and active “in my dream life.” Because I knew that every successful person I admired took care of their body. But until those dreams “came true,” I wasn’t in a hurry to take action.
As if one day I’d just wake up inside my dream life, and only then I’d start changing myself. 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

It was Artem who first shattered that illusion for me.
From him, I learned that first — you need to become the person who achieves those dreams, the one who reaches success, the one who makes things happen.

That shift in perspective changed everything for me.
Most importantly, it taught me to take full responsibility for my life.

I remember one day, while running, I had a powerful realization.
I asked myself:
Would I have been able to achieve my big goal — translating Byron Katie’s first book, publishing it, and presenting it successfully in front of more than 700+ people — if I hadn’t been consistently training and running?

And the answer was clear — no.
Because running at least 10 kilometers every day gave me the strength and energy I needed to reach my dreams. It helped me match the energetic level of my goals.

Then I discovered something else:
Whenever something isn’t working out in my life, it’s because I haven’t yet become the person who can create that outcome.

And this insight helps me bring the focus back into my own control zone — to ask myself:
What can I do from my side? Who do I need to become for this to work out?

I think one of the most powerful positions we can take in life is to take responsibility — for ourselves, for our growth, for our lives — and to keep improving every single day, becoming the person who can consciously create the life they desire.

This morning, I came across a line in a book that resonated so deeply with what I’ve been reflecting on:

“Your life only gets better when you get better.”

“You’ll only receive what you want in life when you become the person you need to be and do the things you’re meant to do.”

Change begins with us.
Our life is a continuation of who we are.

For me, this 100-Day Challenge and all its points are about exactly that — doing everything I feel is right, so that every single day I can feel that I’m becoming more and more the person who consciously creates her dream life.

What matters most to me is being at peace with myself and doing my best with what’s within my control zone.

🤔 And what about you — what do you think about this?
