Healing Parent Relationships Through The Work
September 27, 2017
In the second week of my online program, we’re focusing on the module about relationships with parents.
In this module, we work on releasing old hurts, anger, pain, and disappointments that may have come from our relationships with parents — or even from witnessing their relationship with each other. By finding harmony with our parents, we also find harmony with ourselves.
This module is one of the most important and foundational parts of the program, because without harmony with our parents — without truly accepting them — it’s impossible to fully accept and love ourselves, to build a happy and fulfilling personal life, or to be at peace with who we are.
Here’s one participant’s insight after doing The Work on this topic ❤
Insight
Stressful thought: I am dependent on my family.
1. Is it true? – Yes.
2. Can you absolutely know it’s true? – 😌
3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?
– I feel helpless, heavy, fearful of the future. I’m afraid of making mistakes and disappointing them.
4. Who would you be without the thought that you are dependent on your family?
– I’m left with the reality that they simply provide for me materially, that they want to support me, that they do everything for my success and a better future. Now I see they are not driven by egoistic motives, they’re not expecting anything in return from me… they simply want my happiness. (I remember now their true wish — they dream of building a wooden house once I become truly independent, so they can live simply and happily.)
Turnaround 1: My family is dependent on me.
🎈 A family’s strength is measured by how healthy its fruit is. My family’s strength depends on how happy and whole I am.
🎈 If I am not happy, their existence loses meaning and the idea of wholeness is broken.
🎈 They want to share their energy with me so that the wholeness can be fulfilled. This is a law of life.
Turnaround 2: I am dependent on myself.
🎈 I have my own potential, energy, time, and abilities.
🎈 I am the one in charge of my life.
Forgive me:
☀ For doubting you.
☀ For letting my mind believe you were caring for me out of self-interest.
☀ Forgive me for being cold to you because of that.
Thank you:
🌟 For doing everything for my happiness.
🌟 For being the roots that fill me with energy.”
Amazing, isn’t it? 😍😍🌈🌈❤️❤️☀️☀️✨✨
